The BB30 bottom bracket allows you to pair 30mm spindle cranks to 42mm inner diameter bottom bracket shells. Cannondale pioneered this standard along with specially-designed cranks and many have found the benefits to them. Road versions have a 68mm width, MTB has 73mm. These are also the bearings you can use to replace bearings in PF30 cups. You have two bearing choices. The first choice is our low drag, long life Standard Bearing, with hardened-steel races and our super-round CeramicSpeed balls. The second choice is our Coated Bearing, which uses those same balls installed on coated, hardened-steel races for longer life and less bearing drag. BB30 was designed to make the bike lighter: no cups, threading, or redundant metal, plus a lighter, stiffer crank. BSA is another way of stating English threading. The initialization comes from Birmingham Small Arms, which made bicycles. English threading on road bikes mean a 68mm-wide, 34mm-inside-diameter shell with reverse threading on the drive side. It's the most common threaded standard employed today. This kit allows you to fit 30mm cranks, like those from Rotor, to fit in the tight space of this 34mm spindle. Choose between two bearings types for the cups. Standard Bearings have low drag thanks to hardened-steel races and our CeramicSpeed Balls. The PF4130 bottom bracket is Press Fit into 41mm diameter shells that are 86.5mm wide and mate most cranks with a 30mm spindle to that standard. If you have a BB86 frame and want to install a 386EVO crank or Rotor 30mm crank, this is the kit you need. CeramicSpeed bearings are installed in cups. The Standard Bearing has ceramic CeramicSpeed balls and hardened-steel races. The Coated Bearing has the same balls running on hardened-steel races with a 3-micron-thick metallic coating making the races harder and smoother, increasing service life and reducing friction. BBright is the Cervelo bottom bracket standard found on most of their frames, save the P5. In order to fit Shimano and FSA cranks into this oversized shell, this bottom bracket, complete with CeramicSpeed Bearings, needs to be pressed in. The BBright bottom bracket comes with either CeramicSpeed Standard or Coated Bearings installed. Super smooth, super-round CeramicSpeed Balls contained in hardened-steel races are found on both versions. The Coated version has a metallic coating laid onto the races, making it even smoother and harder, resulting in lower drag and longer life. SRAM saw the opportunity to make a better press fit system where all the best from BB30 and PressFit bottom brackets would be combined into one captivating package. Pressfit 30 will feature an integrated seal, pre-assembled into the cups, to further prolong bearing life. The key difference with Pressfit 30 is how the bearings are fitted into the frame. Bearings are housed in nylon cups which will be pressed into the frames bottom bracket shell. This bottom bracket is designed for 30mm spindle cranksets. Frames will need a 46mm inner-diameter bottom bracket shell to accommodate this system.
